Used Pa Equipment Questions

I have ordered Peavey6 Mixer (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/p... and Shure58 Mic. Now I need a power amp and some speakers (Or somebody told me there are power amp/speaker combos). I am using this PA for just Vocals and want to heard over the an unmiced drum kit and in small to medium venue (less than 150 people). Any suggestion on equipment? I'd personally like to spend less than 300-400 dollras, anyone know where to find deals, is used equipment ok?

On the ticket I got it looks like to officer wrote "INRADD WIRELESS" or something similar, but I can't find anything like that on the web. Can anyone tell me what sort of radar or laser equipment this might be so I might be able to make a defense against it? And preferably where to find technical information on it?

I am looking to buy a eleptical trainer excercise machine, but I havent had any luck trying to find stores that sell used excercise equipment or in the classifieds. If anyone knows of a website or place that I could check out it would be very helpful. Also if anyone is selling their eliptical machine and is in the eastern PA area, email me or leave an answer. :) Please do not suggest Ebay, I would not want to buy some big piece of equipment from Ebay because the shipping/handling would probably be more than the actual item I bought.

I have stuff like speakers, PA systems, and signal processors that's too big and heavy to ship. It was expensive to buy, so I don't want to sell it too cheap.

I've played guitar for years and know about amps but the world of amps, mixers, monitors, speakers and how to use them is a mystery. What is the best way to start learning about them>

I need a list of equipment to put together a good mic system. Just for a bedroom or small venue. Specific names of stuff that you have used would be helpful. I have an allowance so my budget is 200-300 dollars at most. If you could, tell me all the things I would need.

SHORT VERSION...We were a band of 4. 2 members decided to quit and keep the most expensive piece of equipment which I paid for and the band equipment fund has not fully paid me back for. LONG VERSION... We had paying gigs scheduled and needed PA equipment so we could play the shows. We agreed that they money we made from the shows would go to pay for this equipment. I put the equipment on my credit card back in August. After putting some money towards the equipment they got flaky and stopped paying me for the equipment and justified it using very fuzzy math. I still owe money on said equipment. After a show in December they packed up the most expensive piece of equipment which I paid for (it's a PA head valued at $500 new 6 months ago). After ignoring my phone calls for they called me to inform me that they want to quit the band. They said "so what are we going to do about the PA?" -expecting compensation since they put money into the band fund to pay for part of it. They say that they have someone who will buy it for $350. I'm not paying them to get back something I paid for. These guys canceled shows ($$$), alienated fans ($$$), and were overall crappy musicians who didn't practice or put in much effort ($$$$). In short they screwed us in more ways than one and cost us way more money than they put in. They only have put in about $150 each if the money from shows was slip equally rather than being put towards the equipment. However, they would have made NOTHING if I didn't buy the equipment. Any suggestions??? What legal recourse do I have if they sell it, break it, or if I call the cops and they claim that they don't have it? If I call the cops there will be more trouble because of what they will fimd at their house. Am I screwed?

Anyone know where I can find the following: >Linkin Park's standard Tech Rider Sheet. >Their preferred Sound System, equipment, FOH & Monitoring gear. >The setup they are using for their gigs at the O2 Arena (London, UK) on the 28th, 29th Jan. >What the O2 arena standard PA consists of. >Whether this is the standard Arena setup, whether they are using a completely separate hired system, or whether they are bringing extra to compliment the system already there. Thanks!

When I first came to Toronto in the early 90's, the Buy and Sell newspaper was definitely it--dozens of ads for each category, be it drums, PA's, guitars, amps, etc. etc. Now I can't seem to find the same---Buy and Sell has precious few ads, as do Kajiji or Craigslist. Where should I be looking?
